Ebor’s prime objective is to satisfy customer requirements. After the successful launch of the new 2018 VW Polo (VW270), additional production allocation has been secured by the VWSAS Uitenhage plant which results in increases in demand for parts from the OE supply chain. This means that the projected volumes
for Ebor will increase by approximately 20 000 units per annum for each part.
As a response to this, Ebor has acquired a new Injection Moulding Machine to supplement the capacity that would otherwise be strained by the volume increase. The new machine (Wintec t-win 6500) boasts higher productivity, higher durability and outstanding repeatability. It features a more powerful controller, energy-efficient motors and an advanced machine design which ensures consistent part quality.
This addition brings Ebor’s Injection Moulding Machine tally to 13 machines ranging from 220T to 1700T. This will allow Ebor to continue meeting the growing requirement from VWSA and its other customers for the high-quality products produced by the Port Elizabeth plant.
