EBOR building extension approaches completion

The building extension at Ebor Automotive Systems is nearing completion.  The new area is in two sections, comprising a Raw Material store and an additional machine hall housing 2 large injection molding machines.  The first of these – an Engel Duo 1700T – is already in place and in full production.

The building and crane structure was designed by Structural Solutions in Port Elizabeth and built by Strydom Basson & Tait (Pty) Ltd.  It incorporates a 30t/15t twin hoist Demag gantry crane supplied by Terex MHPS.   Rainwater collection provides for all the company’s expected water requirements; high efficiency lighting provides a very comfortable working environment, and the entire structure is covered by sprinkler fire extinguishers.   The building has been constructed to extremely high standards and provides Ebor with an outstanding purpose-built facility to accommodate the rapid expansion of the operation.

The building team, led Mr Jappie Strydom and Mrs Anelle Bailey, Directors, SBT (Pty) Ltd, worked hard to meet the very aggressive build schedule whilst accommodating many disruptions created by installation and commissioning of the production equipment.  The project has been completed with a perfect accident-free record, complementing the accident-free record of Ebor since operations began in August 2014.
