High Street Capital has successfully completed its first foray outside of Southern Africa with the acquisition of a 50% stake in Jersey-based, Jersey Choice Limited.
Jersey Choice is a 13-year-old company that grows and distributes a range of seedling and other plants directly to consumers in the UK.
The business is based on a direct marketing approach where its customers respond to brochures via the post, telephone and increasingly the internet. Orders are shipped directly to customers with a maximum in-transit duration of 3 days.
High Street’s James Whitehouse explains: “Our hope is to help compliment the traditional direct-marketing approach with alternative routes to market. Various alternative sales strategies have become possible as a result of the increase in popularity of online shopping and are ideally suited to the Jersey Choice product range which offers better value and quality than locally available competitive products.”
The High Street Capital consortium consist of High Street, together with a small group of co-investors who were invited to participate.
